Sam Lee Silva is a Communication Studies MA candidate, a 2024-2025 Climate Action Fellow, and a budding interdisciplinary critical communication scholar focusing on environmental communication, social movements, and social media’s impact on both. Their work focuses on spatial justice, entanglement, land relation, and community resilience. Sam graduated from San Francisco State University with their Bachelors in Communication Studies and a certificate in Climate Change Causes, Effects, and Solutions. They have a background in mutual aid organizing and social media management for various community groups and organizations.
Sam has a passion for soil and loves gardening, singing, spinning wool, and organizing community swap meets.
