Saloni Sharma is a first-generation graduate student in Communication Studies with a passion for teaching college students and transforming lives through education. She serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Communication Studies at San Francisco State University in Spring 2026 and previously served as a Graduate Assistant in the department in Fall 2025. Her work centers on pedagogy, particularly examining how teaching methods extend beyond the classroom and how communication strategies shape learning and student engagement. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from San José State University in 2023, where she developed a strong interest in the intersections of human culture and communication. Drawing on this interdisciplinary background, her academic interests include education, curriculum, identity, gender, and culture, with a particular emphasis on inclusive and decolonial pedagogical practices. Outside of her scholarly work, Saloni enjoys traveling and collecting postcards from different countries, running, meditation, and positive affirmations, and finds meaning in practices of care, reflection, and supporting others’ success
