Kara Ketchum

Kara Ketchum (they/them) is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at San Francisco State University, where they are pursuing a Master’s degree in Communication Studies while teaching Fundamentals of Oral Communication. They earned an Associate’s degree in Communication Studies from Skyline College and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, with a minor in Marketing, from San Francisco State University. Kara is also pursuing an additional Associate of Arts degree in Dance through the College of San Mateo. A first-generation college student, they use their academic work to explore research interests in dance pedagogy, marketing, and communication within high-control groups. Outside of teaching and research, Kara can often be found exploring record stores, spending time with their dog Maxwell, or watching One Piece.
