James Warren Boyd received his B.A. in History from UCLA and his advanced degrees (M.A. English: Literature / M.A. Communication Studies: Performance Studies / Graduate Certificates in College Composition and Reading) from SF State. His first experience in college instruction was as a Peace Corps Volunteer on faculty at the Teacher Training College (NKJO) in Radom, Poland. His goals as an instructor at SF State are to guide students' growth as academic explorers and public speakers, as well as to facilitate their intellectual and personal growth by encouraging them to critically examine the world around them. Mr. Boyd is also the Coordinator of the English Tutoring Center here at State. His creative non-fiction stories have been published in literary and online journals, and his personal interests include storytelling, performance, film, track and field, cooking, theater, travel and museums.
