Dr. Gerianne Merrigan (Ph.D., University of Washington, 1992) is Professor and former Chair of Communication Studies at SF State.
Her undergraduate degrees are in Broadcasting and Elementary Education.
Geri teaches Organizational Communication, Communication & Aging, Communication & Empowerment in Organizations, and Quantitative Research Methods in the Communication Studies Department. She previously Communication Techniques & Strategies for Educational Leaders, and served on the Board for SF State’s EdD in Educational Leadership.. The 4th edition of her book, Communication Research Methods (with Carole Huston, Oxford University Press) was published in January 2019.
Hiking in the open spaces of the Peninsula is one of Geri’s favorite extracurricular activities.
