Emma Mink is a Graduate Teaching Assistant and master's candidate at San Francisco State University. She teaches Fundamentals of Oral Communication. As a graduate student in Communication Studies, Emma primarily researches conflict management, communication, and cooperative organizing. She is writing her thesis on worker cooperatives in the Bay Area and seeks to develop a new model that addresses the conflict and communication practices in these unique organizations. As a side interest, Emma also studies sexuality, gender, and communication.

While Emma received her B.A. in Communication Studies from SFSU, she actually started out in the STEM field first. She has a background in biotechnology and mathematics and did plant genome research. While she is no longer in that field, she likes to find nonnormative ways to integrate her background in mathematics with some of her work in the Communication Studies discipline. Emma is also a part of communication-centered academic organizations, and reviews conference papers in her free time.
