Overview

All current Communication Studies Minors, Majors and Graduate Students are invited to participate in the Career Preparation in Communication Studies Program.

If you attend at least two workshops or events sponsored by Career Services and Leadership Development (CSLD) and at least one field trip sponsored by the Communication Studies Internship Program you will be given the Career Preparation in Communication Studies Program Award. Please note that the Career Preparation in Communication Studies Program is not worth any credit or units. Offered in the fall and spring semesters. 

How to Sign-Up

There is no need to sign-up or register to be part of the program. All you need to do is attend at least two of the CSLD workshops or events and attend at least one of the Communication Studies Internship Program field trips this semester. At the end of the semester, you will receive an email if you have completed the requirements.

Past field trips have included San Francisco Opera, de Young Museum, Bleacher Report, 826 Valenica, Pandora, Salesforce, San Francisco International Airport, Hamilton Families, Port of Oakland, Livable City, and the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, LiveRamp, Change.org, Yelp, The Drake Institute, City & County of San Francisco, and Youth Collaboratory. 

About Career Services and Leadership Development (CSLD)

For the CSLD workshops or events, please be sure to the review their Events Calendar and RSVP to the workshops/events you are interested in attending using your Handshake profile. Please note that in order to qualify as a CSLD workshop or event, "Presented by CSLD" has to be part of the title. CSLD has also moved forward with hosting events online due to the recent Covid-19 pandemic. For more information, please visit the CSLD website.
